Investment Analyst – Impact & Emerging Markets

About the role

Sarona Asset Management is seeking an Investment Analyst to join its small, entrepreneurial team. The role focuses on sourcing, diligencing, and monitoring impact‑driven private market investments across emerging markets.

Key responsibilities

• Source and analyse new investment opportunities in private equity, venture capital, private debt, co‑investments, secondary LP stakes and direct loans.
• Prepare investment proposals and build financial models for primary funds, secondary stakes, and co‑investments.
• Participate in onsite due diligence and internal investment decision processes.
• Monitor existing investments, produce regular analysis, and write commentaries for investor reports.
• Support ad‑hoc investment‑related activities as needed.

Required profile

• 2+ years of relevant experience, preferably at an institutional asset manager (manager selection, private equity, M&A or corporate finance).
• Strong passion for private‑market investments and for generating positive social and environmental impact.
• Experience investing in emerging markets and willingness to travel frequently.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, team‑player attitude, curiosity and a “get things done” approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Lived experience from emerging markets is considered an asset.
