Human Resources Manager - Lagos

About the role

eRecruiter is recruiting, on behalf of its client, a Human Resources Manager based in Lagos. The client is a leading multimedia production company known for content on Nigerian and African fashion, music and entertainment. The HR Manager oversees day-to-day HR operations, workforce planning, employee relations, performance management and compliance, and drives a people-first, performance-driven culture across the group. The role suits a strong mid-level HR professional.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement an HR strategy aligned with the group's strategic and financial objectives, advise the CEO on organizational design, workforce optimization, succession planning and culture, and lead organizational restructuring where needed
• Manage the day-to-day HR function, support HR policies and systems across business units, and keep employee records and job descriptions up to date
• Coordinate recruitment from approval to onboarding, support manpower planning, and manage onboarding, probation, confirmation and exit processes
• Run the group's performance management process (KPIs, appraisals), support managers on underperformance, and handle disciplinary matters, grievances and conflicts
• Support payroll administration with Finance, monitor compliance with labor laws and internal policies, and review compensation structures and benefits
• Prepare periodic HR reports on headcount, recruitment, performance and employee relations, track HR metrics, and support internal HR audits

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or a related field; professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, CIPD or equivalent) preferred; master's degree an added advantage
• Minimum 5-7 years of progressive HR leadership experience, including at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
• Experience managing budgets and working in structured corporate governance environments
• Exposure to media, creative industries, education or digital learning is an advantage
