Hospitality Accountant

About the role

We are a prestigious luxury hotel located in Victoria Island, Lagos, seeking a detail‑oriented Hospitality Accountant to join our finance team. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing insights that support our hotel and restaurant operations.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and management accounts.
• Reconcile daily revenue from hotel and restaurant POS systems.
• Monitor cash flow, bank statements, and petty‑cash balances.
• Process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments.
• Manage budgets, control operational costs, and perform inventory costing.
• Oversee payroll preparation, statutory deductions, and tax filing.
• Support internal and external audits and recommend process improvements.
• Collaborate with department heads to enhance financial efficiency.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the hospitality industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet strict reporting deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience with hotel or restaurant POS systems (advantageous).
