Head of Retail Operations & Sales (Downstream)

About the role

The Head of Retail Operations & Sales will lead the company’s retail fuel station network across Nigeria, driving expansion, operational excellence and revenue growth. This senior position reports to senior management and is based in Lagos.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the expansion and optimisation of retail fuel stations, targeting acquisition or leasing of at least 15 stations by Q4 2025.
• Oversee daily station operations, ensuring product availability, safety compliance, inventory control and customer service standards.
• Manage financial performance, including sales targets, cost control, cash handling and profitability analysis.
• Recruit, train and develop station supervisors and staff, implementing performance incentives and regular reviews.
• Maintain regulatory compliance with NMDPRA, SON and environmental standards, and ensure all licences and permits are up to date.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; MBA is an advantage.
• Proven senior leadership experience in multi‑site retail or fuel station operations.
• Strong track record of business development, network expansion and achieving sales targets.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with regulators, dealers and corporate clients.
