Head of Inventory

About the role

Bakan Gizo Pharmarcy & Store Ltd is looking for a Head of Inventory in Abuja to oversee inventory management and stock control across all its branches and warehouses. The role works closely with Procurement, Finance, Audit, Warehouse and Branch Operations teams.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee inventory management and stock control across all branches and warehouses.
• Develop and implement inventory control policies, procedures and systems.
• Monitor stock movements, stock levels, replenishment and inventory accuracy.
• Coordinate periodic stock counts, reconciliations and inventory audits.
• Investigate stock discrepancies, shrinkage, damages, expiries and unexplained losses.
• Analyse inventory data and provide actionable reports to management.
• Ensure proper inventory documentation and compliance with established procedures.
• Collaborate with Procurement, Finance, Audit, Warehouse and Branch Operations teams.
• Identify ways to optimise stockholding costs and improve inventory turnover.
• Supervise and evaluate inventory personnel across the organisation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Logistics or a related discipline.
• At least 7 years of relevant inventory management experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Substantial inventory management experience in a reputable retail organisation, supermarket chain or FMCG retail environment.
• Proven experience managing inventory across multiple branches or locations.
• High level of integrity, accountability and attention to detail.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of inventory control systems, ERP software and stock reconciliation.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory data analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and reporting skills.
