Procurement Officer

About the role

Majeurs is hiring a full-time Procurement Officer in Lagos (Marina) within its manufacturing and warehousing business. The role covers sourcing raw materials for furniture, comparing supplier quotations and keeping track of purchases and stock.

Key responsibilities

• Sourcing raw materials such as wood, plywood, MDF, upholstery fabrics, foam, adhesives and furniture fittings.
• Identifying suppliers and obtaining quotations for materials, tools and production supplies, then comparing them on price, quality, specifications and delivery timelines.
• Assisting in preparing purchase orders and tracking approved purchases, and following up with suppliers on pending orders and delivery schedules.
• Coordinating with Production and Stores to monitor material requirements and stock levels.
• Checking delivered materials against approved specifications and quantities and reporting discrepancies.
• Maintaining procurement records, supplier databases and order-tracking sheets, and assisting with procurement reports and supplier performance monitoring.
• Ensuring compliance with procurement procedures and approval processes.

Required profile

• HND in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• NYSC corps member seeking or currently undergoing placement.
• Willingness to learn about furniture materials and manufacturing processes.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Numerical, analytical and organisational skills, with strong attention to detail and record-keeping.
• Good communication and follow-up skills, integrity and teamwork.
