Head of Institutional Sales – Crypto OTC & FX

About the role

Quidax is looking for a senior leader to own and grow its OTC trading desk. You will be responsible for generating revenue, managing risk, and building a high‑performing team that serves high‑net‑worth individuals, institutions, corporates, and market makers across Africa.

Key responsibilities

• Drive OTC volume, revenue and margin targets while maintaining disciplined spread and risk management.
• Design and implement the OTC operating model, including pricing, approvals, limits and post‑trade processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Compliance and Liquidity teams to ensure clean settlement and regulatory adherence.
• Hire, train and lead a team of OTC sales representatives and traders, establishing performance standards and a culture of responsible risk‑taking.
• Develop and nurture long‑term relationships with HNWIs, funds, corporates and market makers.
• Set and enforce trade‑level risk limits and lead post‑mortems on problematic trades.

Required profile

• 7‑12+ years of experience in crypto OTC trading or institutional sales.
• Proven track record of building and running an OTC desk.
• Experience managing people and delivering consistent revenue growth.
• Deep network in crypto OTC markets and strong understanding of pricing, spreads, hedging and settlement.
• Calm under pressure, high integrity and low ego.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
