Head of Business Development

About the role

Africa International Housing Show (AIHS) hosts the largest housing expo in Africa, bringing together stakeholders and decision-makers in the real estate and housing sector. It is looking for a Head of Business Development for a full-time, on-site role in Abuja. The person leads business growth initiatives, identifies new partnership and sponsorship opportunities and expands AIHS's reach in the real estate and housing sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies
• Manage key accounts and relationships, and negotiate commercial deals
• Oversee sales targets for events and related services
• Work with internal teams to design value propositions for exhibitors, partners and investors
• Analyse market trends and competitor activity to inform strategy
• Prepare business reports and present growth plans to leadership
• Represent AIHS at industry meetings and networking events

Required profile

• Strong business development and sales skills, with a track record of revenue growth and strategic partnerships
• Experience in business planning and account management, including client engagement plans and long-term relationships
• Excellent analytical skills to assess opportunities and interpret data
• Background in real estate, housing or events/exhibitions is highly beneficial
• Negotiation, communication and presentation skills
• Leadership experience managing cross-functional teams or projects
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics or a related field; an advanced degree is an advantage
• Ability to work on-site in Abuja and engage with stakeholders at all levels
