Head Factory Operations (GHAP) - Ethanol Plant Manager

About the role

Green Hills Agric. Products Limited (GHAP) is looking for a Head Factory Operations (Plant/Factory) Manager to lead the overall operation, safety, efficiency and profitability of its ethanol manufacturing plant in Nigeria. The role covers production targets, quality, environmental compliance and cost control across Power and Steam supply, Milling, production, storage and distribution, and safety and regulatory compliance. Hands-on ENA facility operations experience is required; cassava-based ENA production with integrated CO2 recovery and previous Nigerian experience are an advantage.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations so that ENA and CO2 are produced continuously, safely and efficiently, keeping plant availability near 100%
• Keep Power & Steam generation, Milling, Fermentation, Distillation and Storage & dispensing systems in top condition
• Supervise utilities (boilers, power generation, cooling towers, water treatment, RO, ETP) and optimise steam, power, water and fuel use
• Run the waste heat recovery system and the biodigester to secure 100% supplemental biogas
• Prepare and manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets, control raw material, chemical, utility and maintenance costs, and analyse KPIs
• Coordinate feedstock availability (molasses, fresh cassava, dry cassava chips), storage and dispatch of ENA
• Enforce QA/QC, traceability and regulatory compliance, develop unit-level SOPs and report daily, weekly and monthly performance to senior management

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; MBA or M.Tech is an added advantage
• 7-15 years of experience in ENA, ethanol, distillery, sugar or biofuel plants; cassava-based processing experience is an advantage
• Willingness to relocate to Benin
