Group Tax Officer – Tax Compliance Specialist

About the role

The Finance Officer (Tax) will support Norrenberger Financial Group’s tax compliance framework, ensuring accurate tax calculations, timely remittances and full adherence to Nigerian tax regulations. The role aims to minimise tax risk while maintaining proper documentation and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax computations for VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT, Tertiary Education Tax, Stamp Duties and other statutory levies.
• Ensure timely filing and payment of all taxes in line with regulatory deadlines.
• Maintain organised tax records, schedules and supporting documentation, both physical and electronic.
• Reconcile tax accounts in the general ledger, investigate variances and prepare periodic tax reports for management.
• Support tax audits and investigations, providing required documentation and responding to queries from tax authorities.
• Assist the Group Tax Manager with tax planning strategies and monitor legislative changes.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 2–4 years of experience in tax compliance, preferably in a corporate or financial services environment.
• Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, CITN) or progress toward certification is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax laws and statutory regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, reconciliations).
