Fraud Manager – West Africa

About the role
M-KOPA is seeking a Fraud Manager for West Africa to lead the end‑to‑end consumer fraud risk function. You will design prevention systems, drive analytical detection, oversee investigations and shape mitigation strategies for a portfolio that protects 7 million customers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and own country‑wide fraud prevention policies and detection systems, integrating data analytics, technology solutions and field investigations.
- Lead a cross‑functional team of investigators and analysts, set and monitor KPIs, and ensure cost‑effective decision‑making.
- Partner with Legal, Internal Audit and Product teams to progress criminal investigations and disciplinary proceedings.
- Embed a fraud‑awareness culture through formal training, control‑gap assessments and continuous communication.
- Build and maintain detection solutions that anticipate systemic fraud risks before they materialise.
Required profile
- 5+ years of demonstrable experience in fraud risk prevention, detection, or investigation.
- Proven ability to lead and develop investigative or analytical teams.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience translating data insights into actionable controls.
- Excellent collaboration skills with legal, audit and product functions.
