Financial Controller – Lead Reporting & Governance

About the role

We are looking for a Financial Controller to oversee best‑in‑class financial reporting, drive an efficient close process and strengthen financial governance for a diversified consumer‑focused organisation operating across retail, food services, manufacturing and related sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare accurate, timely and IFRS‑compliant monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Lead a disciplined financial close process that meets reporting timelines while improving speed and accuracy.
• Maintain a robust internal control environment to safeguard assets and minimise financial risk.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory, tax and regulatory requirements and deliver successful audit outcomes.
• Drive automation and optimisation of finance systems to improve data integrity and reduce manual work.
• Develop and lead a high‑performing financial control team through coaching and succession planning.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Chartered Accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) – FMCG/Corporate finance experience is a plus.
• Minimum 10 years progressive finance or accounting experience in a structured organisation.
• At least 5 years leading a financial control or reporting function.
• Experience in retail, FMCG, manufacturing or quick‑service restaurant sectors preferred.
• Prior experience in a Big Four audit/assurance firm is an advantage.
