Finance Operations Analyst
Charles Ardor & Company Limited · Abuja
Job description
About the role
CA is hiring a Finance Operations Analyst in Abuja (hybrid, normally two days a week in the office) to keep the books for several clients at once, often in different sectors. Each piece of work is reviewed by an Associate before it goes further, and the role is open only to people who already live in or around Abuja.
Key responsibilities
- Keep each client's books up to date: record every sale, purchase and payment in the right account, period and amount from the client's source documents.
- Reconcile bank and cash accounts, resolve differences and raise anything you cannot resolve.
- Prepare payroll with tax, pension and NHF deducted, and the monthly PAYE, VAT and withholding tax returns; prepare the payroll payment file for the client to approve, without initiating, approving or releasing payments.
- Prepare the schedules and data needed to close the month and build the client's reports.
- Hand over work ready for review, following CA standards, keeping evidence behind every figure and listing anything still open.
- Plan your month across several clients and flag early if a deadline is at risk.
Required profile
- Hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience, including bank reconciliations (around two years typical; graduates with relevant internship or NYSC experience are welcome).
- Degree or HND in accounting or a related subject.
- Completed ICAN Foundation, ACCA Applied Knowledge or ATS, and passed at least two ICAN Skills or ACCA Applied Skills papers (half or more preferred).
- Experience in an accounting, audit or outsourcing firm working on several businesses' books at once is an advantage.
- Sound grasp of double entry and working knowledge of PAYE, VAT and withholding tax under the Nigeria Tax Act 2025.
- Already lives in or around Abuja, with your own working laptop and smartphone.
Required skills
- Confident with Excel, including lookups, SUMIF and pivot tables, and with accounting software.
- Zoho Books experience is an advantage.
- Careful and accurate, able to take feedback and improve.
What we offer
- Hybrid working, normally two days a week in the Abuja office, with occasional extra attendance for meetings and assessments.
- HMO health coverage and paid annual leave.
- Work reviewed with feedback so you learn quickly what good work looks like.
