Facility Manager (Abuja)

About the role

Alpha Mead Group, a total real estate solutions company offering facilities management, real estate development and advisory, security systems, training, healthcare management and financing services, is hiring a Facility Manager for Abuja. The role oversees the technical and operational delivery of facility management services, ensuring buildings operate efficiently, safely, reliably and cost-effectively in line with contractual, statutory, HSE and service quality requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day technical and operational activities and ensure effective operation and maintenance of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, HVAC, fire protection and building fabric systems.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programmes and supervise technical personnel, artisans, vendors and contractors.
• Monitor equipment performance, breakdowns, maintenance schedules and service response times, using CMMS and work-order systems.
• Conduct regular inspections, coordinate planned and reactive maintenance with minimal disruption, and manage service providers against agreed SLAs.
• Review technical quotations, support energy-efficiency initiatives and monitor utility consumption.
• Ensure compliance with statutory inspection, certification, HSE, QMS and client requirements, and take part in emergency preparedness and incident response.
• Prepare technical and operational reports and monitor operational expenditure.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Facilities Management or a related discipline.
• Professional certification in Facilities Management, Engineering, Project Management or a related field is an advantage.
• 7-9 years' relevant experience, preferably in facilities management, commercial, industrial, residential or mixed-use facilities.
• Experience managing technical teams and contractors, and strong knowledge of MEP systems and building O&M.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of CMMS and facility management systems.
• Good knowledge of HSE and statutory requirements.
• People management, contractor/vendor management, cost management, report writing and communication skills.
