Equipment Maintenance Manager (Plantain Flour Processing)

About the role

A client of eRecruiter, a key player in agricultural production specializing in plantain flour and related food products, is hiring an experienced Equipment Maintenance Manager in Sagamu. The manager oversees commissioning, installation, repair and upkeep of the company's equipment, guides technical decisions and strategy across the technical departments, and leads a demanding environment with little supervision.

Key responsibilities

• Develop maintenance procedures, ensure their implementation, and plan and oversee repairs and installations
• Carry out daily inspections of processing equipment to anticipate and resolve issues
• Maintain food production and administrative equipment and a food-grade oil boiler and continuous belt dryer to enable 24-hour production
• Manage the technical division, guide technical projects and allocate resources
• Monitor equipment inventory, place orders and control the maintenance budget
• Create project plans, calendars and progress reports
• Maintain mechanical, ventilation, electrical and plumbing systems to meet production targets
• Enforce safety protocols and conduct regular inspections for regulatory and policy compliance
• Analyze production metrics, train and develop staff, and manage workload, staffing and scheduling

Required profile

• Advanced degree in mechanical engineering or a related field with distinction
• 5+ years of experience in equipment maintenance and repair
• Prior experience in factory commissioning, equipment installation and maintenance
• Prior experience in the food processing industry is a plus
• Demonstrated leadership track record and verifiable references

Required skills

• Familiarity with drafting and understanding blueprints and schematics
• Understanding of mechanical, plumbing and electrical systems
