Power Plant Engineer (FMCG, Sagamu)

About the role

We are looking for a skilled Power Plant Engineer to manage and optimise power generation systems in our FMCG facility in Sagamu. The role ensures reliable, safe, and efficient electricity supply for food production while meeting industry regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of gas and diesel generators and medium‑voltage equipment.
• Maintain uninterrupted power supply, optimise fuel consumption and load distribution, and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programmes.
• Manage spare‑parts inventory, coordinate with vendors, and oversee installation and commissioning of new power systems.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, HACCP and GMP standards, conduct risk assessments and train staff on safety and emergency procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Power Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years experience operating power plants in a food manufacturing or FMCG environment.
• Knowledge of carbon generation and cogeneration (CHP) and familiarity with food industry regulatory standards.

Required skills

• Experience with gas and diesel generators, medium‑voltage systems and load management.
• Proficiency in SCADA, PLC and automation control systems.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and leadership abilities.
