Electrical Engineer – Design & Planning

About the role

TANIT Medical Engineering Limited is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to design and document electrical systems for hospital buildings across West Africa. The role focuses on creating compliant drawings, preparing Bills of Quantities, and ensuring integration with multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive electrical drawings for hospital facilities, including radiology and operating rooms, adhering to international and hospital‑specific standards.
• Prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BoQ) covering material specifications, quantities, and costs, aligned with project budgets and timelines.
• Review and approve subcontractor electrical submissions, identifying discrepancies and providing corrective feedback.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical, and biomedical engineers to integrate electrical systems seamlessly.
• Ensure designs comply with safety regulations, healthcare standards (HTM, NFPA, IEC) and local electrical codes, incorporating redundancy for critical systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in electrical design and BoQ preparation for healthcare or complex infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of hospital electrical requirements, including shielding and grounding for radiology and operating rooms.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving abilities, and effective communication within multidisciplinary teams.
