Education Officer

About the role

Hope 360 Aid is seeking a full-time Education Officer in Maiduguri, Borno State, to plan, execute and oversee educational initiatives for marginalized youth, including displaced children, returnees and those from host communities. The role expands access to secure, inclusive learning environments and ensures activities follow donor mandates, international education standards and organizational policy.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out education interventions in line with approved proposals, work plans, budgets and donor stipulations
• Drive enrollment and retention for out-of-school children, internally displaced persons, returnees and other at-risk groups
• Oversee temporary learning facilities and infrastructure, and manage distribution of school supplies and teaching aids
• Deliver formal and non-formal education, early childhood and accelerated learning programmes
• Coach teachers and facilitators, organize professional development and capacity-building events
• Lead learning assessments and collaborate with school management committees and parent-teacher associations
• Mobilize parents, community leaders and authorities for school attendance and run awareness campaigns on education, girls' empowerment, inclusivity and child protection
• Partner with government ministries, civil society and humanitarian partners, and establish community education committees
• Ensure gender-sensitive, inclusive environments and strict compliance with child safeguarding and PSEA protocols
• Manage beneficiary data and case details in line with consent and data protection rules
• Contribute to needs assessments, school mapping and enrollment surveys, and track enrollment, attendance, retention and completion indicators
• Use KoboToolbox to maintain accurate databases and generate weekly, monthly and periodic reports
• Take part in MEAL processes, field visits, monitoring reports and sector coordination meetings
