Digital Inclusion Volunteer

About the role

ScaleWox supports digital inclusion through its Build and Earn programme, which helps small businesses and community groups get online. The Digital Inclusion Volunteer builds a website for a local business or community group using a third-party AI website builder, after completing free online training. It is an unpaid volunteer position with no fee to join.

Key responsibilities

• Complete the online ScaleWox volunteer training programme.
• Identify a small business, church, school, charity or community group without a website, with support from the ScaleWox team if needed.
• Gather the information needed for the website from the business or group owner.
• Build the website using the AI website builder.
• Review the website with the owner and make agreed changes.
• Guide the owner through publishing the website on the builder's paid plan.
• Share the completed project with the ScaleWox team for review.

Required profile

• Access to a laptop or smartphone with a stable internet connection.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet agreed timelines.
• Interest in technology, small businesses or community development.
• No prior coding or web design experience required.
• Preferred: experience using social media or online tools, and interest in freelancing, digital marketing or web design.
