Cyber Security Instructor

About the role

Digital World Tech Academy offers technology courses and programs in programming, web development, digital marketing and cybersecurity, delivered by experienced instructors using interactive online lectures, practical exercises and real-world projects. The Cyber Security Instructor is a full-time, on-site position based at the academy in Ikorodu, covering network, application and information security.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver cybersecurity classes, labs and workshops
• Develop and update curricula, create learning materials and assessments, and guide learners through practical exercises, simulations and real-world projects
• Lecture, mentor students, give feedback on assignments and support learners preparing for industry certifications
• Collaborate with other faculty to maintain course quality, bring in current cybersecurity trends and threats, and help shape program improvements

Required profile

• Strong knowledge and practical experience in cybersecurity and information security, able to explain complex concepts clearly
• Prior teaching, training or mentoring experience in a technical field, preferably cybersecurity
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Ability to design engaging lesson plans, hands-on labs and assessments for diverse learning levels
• Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to inclusive, learner-centered instruction

Required skills

• Hands-on expertise in network security and application security, including secure configuration, monitoring and best practices
• Experience with malware analysis or related threat analysis, including attack vectors and defensive techniques
• Familiarity with common security tools, operating systems and network environments used in teaching
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH or CISSP are highly beneficial
