Cook / Caterer – Healthcare Facility (Surulere, Lagos)

About the role

We are looking for a reliable Cook/Caterer to prepare nutritious meals for staff, patients and visitors at a healthcare facility in Surulere, Lagos. The role requires strict adherence to hygiene and food‑safety standards while delivering balanced local and continental dishes.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to approved menus and specific dietary requirements.
• Maintain strict food‑hygiene, safety and sanitation standards throughout the kitchen.
• Plan daily meal schedules, ensure timely preparation and serving.
• Keep kitchen equipment, utensils and work areas clean and well‑maintained.
• Monitor stock levels, report shortages and store food properly to avoid spoilage.
• Assist in menu planning, especially for special patient diets.
• Control portions and ensure consistent food quality.
• Dispose of waste following hygiene and environmental guidelines.
• Support catering for staff meetings, events and special functions as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent.
• At least 4 years of experience as a cook or caterer, preferably in hospital, hotel or institutional settings.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene, safety and kitchen best practices.
• Ability to prepare both local and continental dishes.
• Good organisational and time‑management skills, able to work under pressure.
• High level of cleanliness, discipline and professionalism.
