Hotel Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Maintenance Technician responds to guest repair requests, performs preventive maintenance, and ensures the hotel’s facilities operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests and communicate resolutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance on tools, kitchen equipment, and mechanical room assets.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
• Carry out surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts, and document daily activities.
• Use lockout/tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Repair interior and exterior landscaping, including sprinkler systems.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Some experience in general maintenance, surface preparation, and painting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb unassisted and perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders and stairs.
• Valid driver’s license.

Required skills

• Air‑conditioning and refrigeration knowledge.
• Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
• Plumbing repair (e.g., unclogging drains, toilet plunging).
• Pneumatic/electronic system basics.
• Carpentry and finish work.
• Painting and drywall repair.
• Landscaping and sprinkler maintenance.
• Lockout/Tagout safety procedures.
