Sous Chef – Luxury Private Members' Club

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Sous Chef to support daily kitchen operations at a premium private members' club in Victoria Island, Lagos. The role demands high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene and disciplined kitchen management.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Culinary Operations Manager in managing daily kitchen activities and supervise staff during service.
• Maintain consistent food preparation, taste, portioning and presentation according to recipes and standards.
• Ensure strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP and sanitation regulations.
• Monitor inventory, control portions, minimise waste and assist with stock ordering and storage.
• Train and develop junior kitchen staff, fostering technical competence and service excellence.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management or related field.
• 5–7 years of professional culinary experience, preferably in fine‑dining, luxury hospitality or private members' clubs.
• Proven supervisory experience with strong leadership and problem‑solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure in a high‑standard, fast‑paced environment.
