Experienced Cook in Abuja Hotel Kitchen

About the role

The hotel is seeking an experienced cook to support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in delivering high‑quality dishes for guests in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes, yield guides and quality standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as braising pans, baking ovens, gas cookers, grills, microwaves and fryers safely and efficiently.
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation and proper storage of all work areas and food products.
• Monitor appliance and food temperatures, control portion sizes and minimize waste to meet cost targets.
• Communicate needs during busy periods and report incidents to the Head Chef.

Required profile

• Proven experience in a hotel or similar kitchen environment.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene policies and cooking temperature control.
• Ability to work efficiently under time pressure and follow standard recipes.

Required skills

• Operation of braising pans, baking ovens, gas cookers, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Preparation of soups, sauces, entrees, vegetables and à la carte dishes.
• Portioning, chopping, storing ingredients and restocking workstations.
