Compliance Officer (MLRO) – AML/CFT Lead

About the role

RedotPay is seeking a senior Compliance Officer to act as the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) for its Nigerian operations. The role will design, implement and oversee the AML/CFT programme, ensuring alignment with local regulations and group standards while providing independent oversight to the Board.

Key responsibilities

• Own and maintain the AML/CFT programme, including KYC, CDD, EDD, ongoing monitoring, sanctions screening and filing of STR/SAR with the Nigerian FIU and SEC.
• Oversee transaction monitoring and alert handling in line with the group compliance framework.
• Conduct enterprise‑wide risk assessments and keep policies up to date with regulatory changes.
• Manage regulatory reporting, internal and external audits, and act as the primary liaison with the SEC Nigeria.
• Provide compliance advice to business units and escalate material issues directly to the Board, CEO and Group Compliance.
• Ensure staff receive regular training on AML/CFT, sanctions and conduct requirements.
• Maintain accurate compliance records for at least eight years, or as required by Nigerian law.

Required profile

• A first degree in a relevant field (banking, finance, law, economics, etc.) or equivalent experience.
• Minimum four years of post‑qualification experience in AML/CFT, transaction monitoring, regulatory reporting or related areas within fintech, virtual assets or capital markets.
• Prior experience as an MLRO, Compliance Officer or sponsored individual in a regulated entity is highly advantageous.
• Nigerian citizenship (NIN‑eligible) preferred and fit‑and‑proper status with no adverse findings.
• Full‑time availability and ability to report directly to the Board.
