Chief Accountant

About the role

Four Points is hiring a Chief Accountant in Ikot Ekpene. The role supports the day-to-day execution of general ledger processes, including helping clients understand them, and covers account balancing, ledger reconciliation, reporting and discrepancy resolution. The position is open to Nigerian candidates only.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement accounting work and projects, and follow up on accounting SOP audits across the property
• Balance credit card ledgers and verify contracts for groups, performing credit reference checks where needed
• Ensure profits and losses are documented accurately and monitor all applicable taxes so they are current, collected and/or accrued
• Complete period-end functions and submit reports on time
• Train staff on account receivable posting techniques and coach and mentor employees
• Make collections calls if necessary and keep executives, peers and subordinates informed

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with no work experience required
• OR a 2-year degree in Finance and Accounting or a related major, with 2 years of experience in finance and accounting
• Nigerian (local) only

Required skills

• Accounting and ledger reconciliation
• Use of computers and software to build financial spreadsheets and enter data
• Knowledge of return check, gross revenue report, write-off and consolidated deposit procedures
