Area Sales Manager

About the role

Husk Power Systems is seeking an Area Sales Manager to expand its Mini‑Grids business across Nigeria and the wider Sub‑Saharan region. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, managing the sales team, and delivering solutions that address the energy access deficit in rural communities.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and mentor the Mini‑Grids sales team, establishing strategic vision for Hybrid Mini‑Grids sales.
• Set and achieve sales targets, forecast monthly/quarterly/annual performance, and monitor the revenue pipeline.
• Identify new markets, develop sales strategies, and create community market intelligence packs.
• Coordinate with heads of other business units, operations, engineering, IT, and finance to ensure successful business plan implementation.
• Maintain relationships with regulatory bodies, customers, and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• 7+ years of sales experience, including 2‑4 years in the energy sector.
• Graduate degree in Sales, Business Management or Marketing; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
• Strong strategic thinking, problem‑solving and continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Hands‑on experience selling to rural B2C and B2B customers.
• In‑depth knowledge of the Nigerian power sector is advantageous.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency with MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint.
• Experience using project management tools such as MS Project, Asana and Slack.
