Area Business Manager – Direct Sales (Ankpa, Kogi State)

About the role

The Area Business Manager will lead the direct distribution of Sun King Solar products sold on a Pay‑As‑You‑Go (EasyBuy) basis in Ankpa, Kogi State. Reporting to the Regional Business Manager, West East, you will be responsible for driving sales, ensuring timely collections, and expanding the network of Energy Officers.

Key responsibilities

• Recruit, train, and retain a team of at least 40 Energy Officers using local influencers such as village heads, teachers, and religious leaders.
• Provide comprehensive training on sales, collections, product knowledge, technical aspects, inventory, and logistics.
• Define clear daily tasks, routes, and targets for Energy Officers, ensuring they can demonstrate and sell Sun King products confidently.
• Conduct weekly touch‑points with each Energy Officer through in‑person meetings, calls, or joint sales activities.
• Assist Energy Officers with their first five sales to guarantee proper understanding of sales and collection processes.
• Organise joint field work, night activations, market visits, and community events to boost group sales and engagement.
• Report weekly performance, challenges, and opportunities to the Regional Business Manager.

Required profile

• Proven ability to hire, train, and manage a large field sales team.
• Strong leadership with high standards of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
• Excellent communication skills for coaching and problem‑solving with Energy Officers.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned area.
