Air Conditioning Technician

About the role

Ensuring quality workmanship, following safety procedures, supervising and scheduling staff and contractors, and monitoring the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect and assess systems to identify potential problems.
• Repair or replace worn out or defective parts in the air‑conditioning system.
• Install new air‑conditioning systems and ensure they operate efficiently.
• Perform routine maintenance to keep systems at optimal capacity.
• Test systems to verify compliance with plans and detect malfunctions.
• Advise clients on reducing energy consumption and maintaining their systems.
• Document all maintenance and repair work for future reference.
• Ensure installations and repairs meet industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Respond to emergency calls for system repair and maintenance.
• Identify maintenance risks on equipment and mitigate them.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical defects and malfunctions.
• Inspect installations and observe operations to ensure compliance with design, safety standards, and specifications.
• Use specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to test and repair equipment.

Required profile

• OND or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant electrical experience, including work in the food industry.
• Technical competence to understand and repair commercial, residential and automotive AC units.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities for diagnosing and correcting system issues.
• Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy equipment and work in confined or high spaces.
• Attention to detail to ensure correct installation and early issue detection.
• Customer‑service skills to interact with clients and address their needs.
• Knowledge of safety measures and regulations to perform work safely and legally.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.
• Effective time‑management to meet deadlines and plan maintenance schedules.
