Head of Project Planning, Monitoring & Control (PPMC)

About the role

Megastar Technical and Construction Company, a civil engineering firm founded in 1988, is hiring a Head of Project Planning, Monitoring & Control (PPMC) for a full-time, on-site position in Port Harcourt. The role oversees the planning, scheduling and coordination of several civil engineering and building projects, keeping them aligned with scope, quality, time and budget.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and update project plans and track progress against milestones
• Monitor risks and implement corrective actions where needed
• Lead project control teams and review reports and performance dashboards
• Provide timely updates to senior management and project stakeholders
• Establish and improve standards, tools and procedures for project planning, cost control and performance monitoring

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field; PMP or PRINCE2 is an advantage
• Significant experience in building and civil engineering construction, preferably in a similar leadership or project controls role
• Demonstrated budgeting and cost control experience, including forecasting, variance analysis and financial oversight
• Proven team management, including coaching and coordinating cross-functional teams
• Commitment to safety, quality standards and continuous improvement

Required skills

• Program management and project planning
• Project management and scheduling tools such as MS Project or Primavera
• Analytical skills for interpreting project data and making evidence-based decisions
• Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences
