Accounts Supervisor – Finance Leadership Role

About the role

The Accounts Supervisor will lead the accounts team, ensuring daily client communications are handled efficiently and that financial operations support the company’s strategic goals. This position acts as the primary contact for client interactions and oversees team performance.

Key responsibilities

• Support the accounts team in day‑to‑day departmental operations.
• Assist in managing practice finances to maximise income and control expenditure.
• Monitor cash flow, forecast income, and predict workflow.
• Review income and expenditure statements, correct inaccuracies, and ensure timely invoice payments.
• Maintain effective petty‑cash and cheque handling systems.
• Oversee Social Security contributions for all staff.
• Present financial forecasts to partners as required.
• Brief the business on financial implications of contract and legislative changes.
• Develop and implement debt‑management processes, including court procedures for petty debts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of treasury experience, preferably in EPC, oil & gas, or energy sectors.
• Professional qualification: ACA, ACCA, ICAN, or CFA Charterholder.
• Strong understanding of project finance structures, bonds/guarantees, and risk management.
