Accountant

About the role

Paymi Solutions Limited (PayZeep) is a licensed fintech company in Nigeria seeking an Accountant to maintain accurate books and support statutory and group reporting. The role provides a clear view of the company’s financial position and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance.
• Prepare and file tax returns.
• Enter accounting data into business logs and prepare GAAP journal entries.
• Perform bank reconciliations and code cash receipts and transfers.
• Maintain fixed assets and prepare balance‑sheet and profit‑and‑loss reconciliations.
• Analyse monthly profit and loss, explain variances and propose journal entries.
• Execute year‑end close activities and support audits.
• Liaise with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, finance, IT and other teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline.
• Minimum 4 years of general accounting experience.
• Fintech experience, professional accounting certification, or ICAN membership are a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel (XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot tables, etc.).
• Strong account reconciliation abilities.
• Strong data analysis capabilities.
