Senior Accountant

About the role

The Senior Accountant will oversee the day‑to‑day financial operations of the company, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and full regulatory compliance across all branches. The role requires a detail‑oriented, ICAN‑certified professional capable of managing general ledger activities, payroll‑related financial reconciliations, audits, and supporting strategic financial decision‑making for senior leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial operations and maintain accurate reporting.
• Ensure strong internal controls and full regulatory compliance across all branches.
• Manage general ledger activities and payroll‑related financial reconciliations.
• Coordinate internal and external audits.
• Support senior leadership with strategic financial analysis and decision‑making.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• ICAN certification (mandatory).
• 4‑6 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in retail, hospitality, or food & beverage.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian tax and statutory requirements (PAYE, PITA, pension).
• High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Odoo accounting software (preferred).
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Solid understanding of IFRS and financial reporting standards.
