Accountant – Finance & Accounting (Port Harcourt)

About the role

We are seeking a qualified Accountant to join our finance team in Port Harcourt. The role involves managing the full spectrum of accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records, and supporting strategic financial decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
• Handle banking transactions and monitor cash inflows/outflows.
• Prepare bank reconciliation statements and oversee cash management.
• Maintain general ledgers and accurate record‑keeping systems.
• Maintain the Fixed Assets Register and prepare fixed‑asset schedules.
• Administer payroll and process tax schedules (PAYE, VAT, WHT).
• Follow up on WHT receipt collections and handle staff pension remittances.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash‑flow).
• Coordinate annual external audits and liaise with auditors and tax consultants.
• Prepare the annual budget and monitor budget performance.

Required profile

• Chartered Accountant qualification (ACCA or ICAN).
• 4–7 years of relevant finance/accounting experience.
• Full‑time availability and willingness to work on‑site in Port Harcourt.
