Special Needs Teacher – Inclusive Education for Children with Autism & Developmental Needs

About the role

We are seeking compassionate Special Needs Teachers to join a leading provider of inclusive education for children with autism, Down syndrome, ADHD and other developmental challenges. You will create individualized learning experiences that foster independence, communication and social growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized learning plans tailored to each student’s abilities.
• Deliver engaging lessons using appropriate teaching strategies and adapted curriculum.
• Monitor, assess and document academic, social, emotional and behavioural progress.
• Implement positive behaviour management and reinforcement techniques.
• Collaborate with therapists, psychologists, parents and other professionals.
• Maintain accurate student records, reports and progress documentation.
• Participate in IEP meetings, contribute to goal setting and review progress.
• Provide regular feedback to parents and caregivers.
• Attend staff meetings, training sessions and professional development activities.

Required profile

• Minimum NCE, HND, Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Special Education, Education, Psychology, Child Development or related field.
• At least 1 year of experience working with children with special needs.
• Knowledge of inclusive education practices and individualized learning approaches.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and documentation skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Basic computer proficiency for record keeping and reporting.
