Senior Consultant, Gender Equality Programmatic Review (International)

About the role

UNICEF Nigeria is seeking a senior international consultant to lead a comprehensive Gender Equality Programmatic Review (GPR). The review will assess gender integration across UNICEF Nigeria’s programmes and operations and provide evidence‑based recommendations for the next Country Programme (2028‑2032).

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a desk review of existing gender data, policies and programmes.
• Develop a draft mission agenda and present preliminary findings to stakeholders.
• Prepare a debrief slide deck and a draft GPR report summarising agreed gender‑equality priorities.
• Produce a final GPR report and a draft Gender Action Plan to inform the Strategic Moment of Reflection.
• Collaborate with country programme teams and provide technical guidance on gender integration.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Gender Equality Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of strong technical experience in gender equality programming or research.
• Proven experience supporting country programme teams in gender equality or social inclusion assessments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
