Window Treatment & Soft Furnishings Facilitator

About the role

Zephyr Interior Design Academy (ZIDA) in Abuja is seeking a part‑time Window Treatment and Soft Furnishings Facilitator. You will lead structured lessons on window coverings and soft furnishings, guiding learners through design principles, fabric selection, measurement, hardware options and installation techniques.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed lesson plans and instructional materials for each session.
• Demonstrate practical techniques for curtains, blinds, drapery, cushions and upholstery accents.
• Guide students through hands‑on projects, ensuring accurate measurement, cutting and finishing of fabrics.
• Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and offer individual coaching as needed.
• Collaborate with fellow instructors to align curriculum content and maintain high teaching standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of course materials and teaching methods.

Required profile

• Strong planning, classroom management and learner‑centered teaching methods.
• Proven experience in window treatments and soft furnishings from design through installation.
• Proficiency in measuring, cutting and finishing fabrics with high attention to detail.
• Prior teaching, mentoring or facilitation experience in a vocational or design setting is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse learner groups.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Interior Design, Textile Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent professional experience.
