Senior Gender Equality Consultant – Programmatic Review

About the role

UNICEF Nigeria is seeking a Senior International Consultant to lead a comprehensive Gender Equality Programmatic Review (GPR). The consultant will evaluate gender integration across UNICEF’s programmes and operations, providing evidence‑based recommendations that will shape the next Country Programme (2028‑2032).

Key responsibilities

• Conduct a desk review and field missions to assess gender equality status, gaps and opportunities.
• Prepare a Draft Mission Agenda, present preliminary findings and develop a debrief slide deck.
• Produce a draft GPR report, summarize agreed gender equality priorities, and deliver a final comprehensive GPR report.
• Draft a Gender Action Plan to inform the Strategic Moment of Reflection in early September.

Required profile

• Advanced university degree (Master’s) in Gender Equality Studies, International Development, Social Sciences, Public Health or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in gender equality programming or research, including supporting country programme teams.
• Proven ability to use evidence‑based approaches to shape and implement programmes.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication, with strong presentation skills.
