Senior Finance Associate (G-7) – Temporary, 364 days – Abuja

About the role

The Senior Finance Associate will support the UNICEF Nigeria Country Office Health Section in delivering finance services for child survival programmes. Working under the Finance Manager and the Polio Team Lead, the role focuses on ensuring accurate, timely financial operations in line with UNICEF rules.

Key responsibilities

• Perform specialized finance tasks, including processing transactions and maintaining financial records.
• Ensure compliance with UNICEF financial policies and regulations.
• Research, analyse, and resolve irregular financial cases.
• Recommend improvements to finance processes and delivery design.
• Provide financial support to the Polio Team and other programme units.
• Assist the Finance Manager with reporting and month‑end close activities.

Required profile

• Relevant finance or accounting background.
• Minimum of 1 month of professional experience in a finance role.
• Ability to work under supervision and collaborate with programme teams.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
