Senior Accounts Manager

About the role

The Senior Accounts Manager will oversee the full spectrum of accounting activities for FMR Agency, ensuring accurate financial recording, timely invoicing, and compliance with statutory requirements. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role supports both operational finance and strategic reporting within a construction environment.

Key responsibilities

• Record all financial transactions promptly in the company’s accounting system.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, maintaining an up‑to‑date sales invoice register.
• Monitor customer accounts, follow up on outstanding payments, and keep an accurate debtors ledger.
• Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery documents before processing payments.
• Prepare supplier payment schedules and process approved payments in line with company procedures.
• Prepare monthly payroll schedules for review by the Head of Finance.
• Assist in preparing statutory schedules and supporting documentation for PAYE, VAT, NHF, pension and other regulatory filings.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies.
• Prepare financial schedules, reconciliations and supporting documents for internal and external audits.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports as required.
• Support budget monitoring, cash‑flow management and financial planning activities.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure timely processing of financial transactions.
• Undertake any other finance and accounting duties assigned by management.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA or equivalent (preferred or in progress).
• 3–5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with supervisory experience considered an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and statutory compliance.

• Proficiency in accounting software.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
