Senior Accounts Manager

About the role

The Senior Accounts Manager will oversee all accounting activities for the company, ensuring accurate recording of transactions, timely invoicing, and compliance with statutory regulations. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting the business’s financial planning.

Key responsibilities

• Record financial transactions promptly in the accounting system.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, maintaining an up‑to‑date sales invoice register.
• Monitor customer accounts, follow up on outstanding payments, and manage the debtors ledger.
• Verify supplier invoices against purchase orders and delivery documents before processing payments.
• Prepare supplier payment schedules and process approved payments.
• Prepare monthly payroll schedules for review by the Head of Finance.
• Assist in statutory filings for PAYE, VAT, NHF, pension and other regulatory requirements.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare financial schedules and supporting documents for internal and external audits.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Produce weekly and monthly financial reports as required.
• Support budget monitoring, cash‑flow management and financial planning.
• Liaise with internal departments to ensure timely processing of financial transactions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
• Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACA, ACCA or equivalent (preferred or in progress).
• 3–5 years of accounting or finance experience; supervisory experience is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and statutory compliance.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
