Security Planning and Architecture Officer

About the role

eRecruiter is recruiting, on behalf of a client, a Security Planning and Architecture Officer for a cybersecurity solutions provider based in Lagos. The client offers security and risk consulting, managed security services and threat detection through its Cyber Defense Security Operations Centre (CSOC). The officer designs secure systems, leads cybersecurity initiatives and strengthens the organisation's security posture.

Key responsibilities

• Lead investigations and help senior management define strategies to protect client data from attacks.
• Lead cybersecurity initiatives together with the Group Cybersecurity team.
• Design and implement security controls to safeguard and monitor information systems, enterprise applications and data.
• Lead information security projects and define and enforce security requirements for applications in development.
• Design, document and deploy secure infrastructure solutions to protect the integrity, availability and confidentiality of critical data.
• Work with development teams to embed security best practices in the software development lifecycle and ensure compliance with security requirements.
• Collaborate with the Client Server Team so that technical plans are practical and risk to servers, workstations and productivity is minimised.
• Implement monitoring of security-related events and research new technologies to prevent data loss and service interruptions.
• Document and operationalise information security, keeping documentation up to date and ensuring conformance with the Cybersecurity Blueprint/Roadmap.
• Contribute to the company's strategic plan so that security gaps and vulnerabilities are identified and closed.
• Develop and deliver security awareness training on a quarterly, annual and on-demand basis, using surveys and tests to measure effectiveness.

Required profile

• Minimum four years of work experience, including three years of security architecture experience.
• Proven experience across the full secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) for small and medium enterprise projects.
• Good working knowledge of security design and architecture.
