Junior Product Manager

About the role

Chowdeck is an on-demand delivery service for Africa, delivering food, medicine, groceries and other packages. As a Junior Product Manager you will contribute across the product organisation in a general role, not tied to one fixed team, and may move between product areas as priorities change. You will work alongside an experienced Product Lead and a cross-functional team, reporting to a Product Lead or the Product Executive.

Key responsibilities

• Own clearly defined product problems or workstreams within your assigned team
• Write product documentation, requirements and decisions, and follow up on them
• Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders
• Run quality checks, prepare for launch and gather post-launch learning
• Speak with users and internal teams, document findings and support product discovery
• Help define scope, edge cases and acceptance criteria, track delivery and flag blockers early
• Test products before release and follow up on issues after launch
• Use product data and feedback to judge whether changes worked, and communicate progress and trade-offs clearly

Required profile

• At least 1 year of relevant experience in product management or an adjacent role with structured problem-solving and cross-functional delivery
• Strong written communication and ability to organise complex information
• Curiosity about how products work and willingness to talk directly with users and teams
• Comfort with data and attention to detail, with a strong sense of ownership
• Ability to learn quickly, take feedback well and thrive in a changing environment

Bonus points

• Digital product or operational process experience
• Familiarity with product analytics, user research, QA, design tools or technical concepts
• Experience in commerce, logistics, fintech or marketplaces
