Reconciliation Officer

About the role

The Reconciliation Officer will ensure that all financial records, payment platforms and ledgers are accurately matched and reported. You will work closely with banks, payment processors and internal teams to maintain clean and compliant financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile accounts, payment platforms, ledgers and other financial records on a regular basis.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between internal records and external statements.
• Review daily transactions to ensure correct posting and classification.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reconciliation reports.
• Track outstanding and unidentified transactions and ensure timely resolution.
• Liaise with banks, payment processors, finance, operations and other relevant teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation and audit trails for all reconciliations.
• Support month‑end and year‑end financial closing activities.
• Identify control weaknesses and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in reconciliation, accounting, finance or financial operations.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial transaction processes.
• Excellent numerical, analytical, communication and organisational skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
• Professional accounting qualification or relevant certification is an advantage.
