Project Accountant / Analyst

About the role

The Project Accountant / Analyst will support project financial management, ensuring accurate tracking of income, expenses, budgets and cash flow for projects within the company.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor project income, expenses, budgets, commitments and cash flow, preparing regular financial reports and variance analysis.
• Track project costs against approved budgets, identify potential overruns early and support billing, invoicing, revenue tracking and collections.
• Prepare and maintain project budgets, cost schedules, financial models and cash‑flow forecasts, highlighting funding or collection issues.
• Provide financial support for contracts, variations, claims, tenders and commercial decisions, and work with Project Managers to recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with project financial close‑out, reconciliations, profitability reviews, audits, internal controls and compliance with accounting and tax requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in project accounting, financial analysis, management accounting or project controls.
• Professional qualification or progress towards ICAN, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of accounting, budgeting, cost control, financial reporting and analysis.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups, formulas and financial modelling.
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems; QuickBooks experience is an advantage.
