PHP Software Development Officer

About the role

StreSERT Integrated Limited (SIL) is hiring a PHP Software Development Officer in Lagos (Marina) to develop, maintain and support PHP applications and integrations, including registry and registrar applications. The role covers requirements analysis, application support, quality and release management, and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse user requirements, document acceptance criteria and data flows, and estimate work with the Head of Technical Services
• Develop and maintain PHP applications, services and integrations, and build web interfaces and APIs with input validation and error handling
• Support CoCCA and registry applications: investigate faults, review logs, coordinate with vendors, and support registrar onboarding and integration testing
• Use Git, peer review and automated tests, and run integration, regression and user acceptance testing before release
• Apply secure coding practices (access controls, parameterised queries, secret management, dependency checks) and prepare deployment and rollback plans
• Maintain technical documentation, API specs, release notes and runbooks, and provide user training

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline
• At least three years of hands-on software development, including at least two years developing and maintaining PHP applications in production
• Experience diagnosing faults and supporting business-critical applications, and a strong practical development portfolio

Required skills

• Strong PHP, including object-oriented programming, Composer and a mainstream PHP framework
• SQL and relational databases (MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL); REST APIs; HTML, CSS and JavaScript; Git; Linux environments
