Medical Officer

About the role

CareValue Health, an AI-powered integrated health system, is hiring a full-time, on-site Medical Officer in Lagos State, Nigeria. The officer provides high-quality clinical services such as patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up care, working daily with multidisciplinary teams and collaborating closely with physicians and specialists.

Key responsibilities

• Provide patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and follow-up care in line with CareValue Health's standards and protocols.
• Work with physicians and specialists, take part in ward rounds and case reviews, and help integrate AI-driven tools into clinical workflows.
• Maintain accurate medical records and contribute to clinical governance and quality improvement.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and preventive care.
• Support training of clinical staff, contribute to clinical research or data-driven projects, and take part in community outreach programmes.

Required profile

• Strong clinical foundation in medicine with experience in patient assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
• Experience in surgery or minor surgical procedures, following safety, infection control and clinical best practices.
• Ability to train and mentor medical, nursing and allied health professionals.
• Recognized medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and a valid Nigerian licence to practice; specialty training or residency is an advantage.
• Experience in cardiovascular care or chronic disease management, and in resource-variable settings, is beneficial.

Required skills

• Familiarity with digital health tools, electronic medical records and data-informed clinical decision-making.
• Openness to AI-enhanced care models.
• Excellent communication, clinical documentation and interpersonal skills, with strong ethics and commitment to patient safety.
