Endoscopy Technician Assistant

About the role

Zendale Endoscopy is a state-of-the-art endoscopy center offering diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal services, including gastroenterology consultations, upper GI endoscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP, variceal banding and PEG tube insertion. It is looking for a full-time, on-site Endoscopy Technician Assistant in Lagos State, Nigeria, who supports endoscopy procedures by preparing procedure rooms, organizing equipment and assisting clinical staff before, during and after examinations.

Key responsibilities

• Clean and sterilize endoscopic instruments
• Set up and check equipment, and ensure supplies and disposables are available
• Help with patient preparation, basic clinical support under supervision, and safe patient positioning and transfer
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection prevention protocols
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and other team members to support efficient workflow and quality patient care

Required profile

• Technical competency in endoscopy support, including basic knowledge of endoscopic procedures and equipment
• Hands-on support experience in a clinical or procedural setting assisting licensed professionals
• Foundational knowledge of medical terminology, gastrointestinal medicine and clinical safety practices
• A relevant certification or diploma in endoscopy technology, surgical technology, medical assisting or a related field is preferred; previous experience in an endoscopy, surgical or procedural unit is an advantage
• Ability to follow detailed clinical protocols, work in a fast-paced environment and pay close attention to detail
• Strong communication skills, reliability and commitment to patient safety, confidentiality and respectful care
