Biomedical Engineer

About the role

Marigold Hospital and Critical Care Centre, a 25-bed multi-specialty acute care facility in Lagos State, Nigeria, is looking for a Biomedical Engineer. The role manages, maintains and optimises medical equipment and related technologies across the hospital, and is a full-time, on-site position.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections of medical equipment and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Coordinate repairs and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with clinical staff to support effective use of equipment and train users on proper operation.
• Maintain accurate documentation of equipment inventory and service records.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with medical equipment maintenance, including installation, calibration and repair.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
• Understanding of hospital safety standards, regulatory requirements and quality assurance processes.
• Prior hospital or clinical experience in Lagos State or similar settings is an advantage.
• Must live within Surulere and its environs.

Required skills

• Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics and use diagnostic tools effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and ability to work with multidisciplinary teams.
