LLM Engineer

About the role

An AI team is looking for a highly skilled and motivated LLM Engineer to design, develop, fine-tune, optimise and deploy large language models (LLMs) for real-world problems across many domains. The team builds intelligent systems using advanced NLP and deep learning technologies.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and fine-tune LLMs such as GPT, LLaMA and Mistral for internal and client-facing applications.
• Implement scalable training and inference pipelines on the cloud or distributed infrastructure.
• Customise and optimise LLMs using techniques such as LoRA, quantisation and distillation.
• Build evaluation frameworks to measure model performance, accuracy and safety.
• Work with data scientists, ML engineers and product managers to integrate LLMs into products.
• Stay up to date with LLM research and ensure model reliability, security, fairness and ethical alignment.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI or a related field (PhD is a plus).
• Nice to have: experience with vector databases, RAG systems, data privacy and ethical AI, and open-source LLM contributions.

Required skills

• Strong experience with LLMs (GPT, PaLM, Claude, Falcon, LLaMA)
• Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers or TensorFlow
• Model fine-tuning, prompt engineering and evaluation
• Familiarity with GPUs, TPUs and distributed training
• MLOps tools such as Weights & Biases, MLflow and Airflow
